The Minimind is the epitome of calm, presence, and gentle movement.

Give a Minimind as a gift and experience its special effect firsthand. A gentle nudge is all it takes for the steel ball to begin rotating softly – calmly, steadily, and for several seconds. This movement invites you to pause briefly and consciously perceive the moment. That's precisely the idea behind Miniminds: to give the gift of presence and bring a quiet smile to someone's face – wherever they are placed.

Muruta Design

Before Miniminds took shape, Mustafa began his journey in the world of precision engineering. As a mechanical engineer, he studied at RWTH Aachen University, where he learned how crucial every detail is when mechanics are to function in perfect harmony.

His experience at companies such as Mercedes-Benz, ABB, and Komatsu sharpened his eye for quality, functionality, and precision. His thesis at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) further deepened his connection to engineering science and aerospace technology.

But beyond pure functionality, a new vision emerged: to design objects that do more than just function – they should evoke emotions.

From this perspective, the foundation for Miniminds was born: technology as a means to make stillness, movement, and presence tangible.

The first prototypes

The first prototype of Bōru was created in the later stages of development.

It soon became clear that this Minimind was more than just a small object.

His calm movements and quiet presence made him special – the beginning of a unique design story.

Ball

Bōru represents the very first Minimind from the world of Muruta Design.

Reduced forms, calm proportions, and a clear design characterize this sitting figure.

At its center is the magnetically held steel sphere as a head, which continues to spin for several seconds with a small impulse.*

Bōru is attentive, centered, and self-contained. He appears quiet and alive at the same time.

He accompanies the moment without disturbing it.

*This characteristic is shared by all Minimind characters.
